Indian Hackamore (bitless bridle/bosel) have you used one? do you like it?
Im thinking about using a indian hackamore, bit less bridle, bosal (a lot of names Ive found to describe it) on my horse. I am a relatively experienced rider and I have ridden with bosal's and hackamores before I know the risk of damage if used improperly and Id rather not have all my answers telling me that please. what I want to know is if you have used a indian hackamore such as this one http://www.horsearoundtack.com/LOOK.html (just an example i found by using yahoo image search) and if you like it or not, and why.
thanks for you opinion missy, I would be using it for around the property, trails and some light (for fun) arina work so I'll Keep that in mind
thats a good idea sparrow, it doesnt seam anyone yet has used this style hackamore. I may just have to experement with it. my gilding likes to throw his head pin his ears and play with the bit when ridding Im hopeing this will help with that
Since I have many hackamores and bosals and have used them to show and two rein; I thought I was prepared to answer your question. But after looking at the pic you posted; this is not a normal hackamore; this one squeezes/tightens around the nose when you pull on the reins. Interesting. I don't see why it would not work, but can tell you will have to 'think' about how to use it correctly. I can see already that one would have to use a supporting rein to keep it from twisting/turning on the nose and to have it operate as intended when using it as a support to your stop or slowing down. It does have knots in all the right places. I would try it just for fun, consider it a 1st hand education for $15.99, they you can tell the rest of us how it worked!
